Corinne Reporter

Judge Dennis Toohy, editor of the Reporter in 1872, planned to close the paper, move to Salt Lake City and launch a new paper called the Gentile Sun. But as reported in the Salt Lake Herald on April 4 of that year, "Judge Toohy writes us to discontinue the advertisement of the Gentile Sun, as that Sun enterprise has set, the merchants of Corinne, having in mass meeting subscribed a sufficient bonus to have the Reporter continued. Mr. Aulbach, who had bought into the new paper on condition that the office was to be moved to this city…. retires from the engagement, leaving Judge Toohy sole proprietor and editor as before."

The Utah Digital Newspapers Program would like to extend its most sincere thanks to the Church History Library of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for the loan of their original newspapers for the creation of this collection.
