This newspaper was written and published at the Topaz internment camp near Delta, Utah, during World War II. Topaz was one of ten camps where people of Japanese ancestry were forced to live during the War.
The first issues in this collection are from the Tanforan internment camp in California. The "residents" were transferred from there to Topaz in 1942, and continued publishing the paper until the camp closed in October, 1945, two months after the War ended.
The Utah Digital Newspapers Program would like to extend its most sincere thanks to Steve Koga for the loan of his original newspapers for the creation of this collection.
