Eureka Reporter

1902 - 2004

The Eureka Weekly Reporter began publishing in 1900. In 1903, the name was changed to The Eureka Reporter. Eureka, in Juab County, boasted a strong mining industry. Gold, lead, silver, copper, zinc, beryllium, limestone, shale, gypsum and iron are all found within the county's borders. The November 20, 1903, issue listed the number of carloads of ore taken from the Tintic Mining District's Centennial Eureka, Yankee, Uncle Sam, Tetro, Richmond Anaconda, Gemini, Eagle & Blue Bell, Bullion Beck, South Swansea, Swansea, Dragon Iron Mine, LaClede, Star Cons, Black Jack, iron, Carisa, Lower Mammoth, Grand Central, and Ajax mines.

We extend our thanks to the Tintic Mining Museum for the loan of the original newspapers for scanning.
